State Tourism Offices

State offices of tourism are charged with encouraging the traveling public to visit  the recreational, historical, and natural advantages of their states. Efforts include promotion to travel writers, motor coach tour operators, individual travelers, and the international travel community. State offices of tourism may be able to provide valuable opportunities for promoting and advertising Route 66 towns, businesses, and events. Some state offices also administer programs to provide cost-share funds to non-profit organizations for tourism advertising.

Learn more about state offices of tourism in our State Tourism Resource Guide. Regional and local tourism offices are also valuable assets to any promotional effort. Check your area listings for local tourism offices.
