This special 2.10 Historic Dry Stone Wall Rebuild Workshop is being hosted in conjunction with thePreservation Education Institute/Historic Windsor Inc. This workshop will be offered in the two day format as specifically formatted for contractors in historic preservation, landscaping, and masonry. We know that contractor’s time is valuable so this normally 3 day long course is being offered in a two day format.
It will cover most of the same material as the 3-day version at a bit faster pace. Some of the stone shaping and site preparation work will be offered in a more brief format. A discussion of how to go about assessing historic dry stone work will be a special addition.
For both introductory and experienced wallers.
This workshop is best suited to contractors and those with building, masonry, or construction background. No experience in dry stone work is required and there are no prerequisite courses. Less experianced participants will be working on a straight section of wall. Experienced stone workers or those that have taken one or more workshops will work at a section that includes building a wall end (cheek end).
For those without a contracting/construction background we recommend the standard 3-day version of the course offered June 14 to 16.
