Louisiana State University’s Center for Advanced Microstructures and Devices (CAMD) offers a 2 day workshop* on the application of synchrotron radiation based spectroscopic and imaging techniques for the characterisation of archeological artifacts:

  • Day 1: talks about some basics and the available techniques;
  • Day 2: hands on experiments and analysis on suitable samples from the participants. Number of participants is limited! Limited financial support is available!

When: March 26 and 27 (Starting time 9.30 a.m.)

Where: At CAMD in Baton Rouge (6980 Jefferson Hwy.)

Who: Young scientists (also graduate students) and faculty working in archeology who wish to learn new techniques for analyzing their artifacts with high tech in a non-destructive way.
