The Louisiana Chapter of the Association for Gravestone Studies (AGS) is holding a two day hands-on workshop at the Rapides Cemetery (201 Hatti St Pineville, Louisiana), dates are May 9-10, 2019 9:00 to 4:00 each day.
Maximum of 30 participants.
This workshop will be taught by conservators; Jason Church, Rusty Brenner, and Heather Veneziano.
Day one of the workshop will begin at Historic Fort Randolph ( 230 Riverfront St Pineville, Louisiana) include; Lectures on documentation and photography, preservation planning and priorities. Following lunch the participants will travel to the cemetery and learn proper cleaning techniques for stone grave markers and techniques for simple resetting of markers.
Day two of the workshop will include; Resetting using lifting equipment, adhesive stone repairs, and patch fills.
Lunch will be provided for the participants.
The workshop will cost $25 dollars per participant for members of the Association for Gravestone Studies.
