The 2015 meeting of the Texas Archeological Society will take place October 23-25, 2015. The Omni Houston Hotel at Westside will serve as host venue. Attendees can participate in the silent auction, book festival, as well as various sessions, banquets, and business meetings. Topics covered will range from “Early Norwegian Settlers on the Texas Frontier” to “The New Witte Museum and Archaeology.” Marilyn Johnson will serve as the speaker for the public forum. Her presentation entitled “Lives in Ruins: Archaeologists and the Seductive Lure of Human Rubble” will be an absorbing and entertaining look at the lives of contemporary archaeologists. Dr. Jean Clottes will serve as the keynote speaker for the banquet. He will speak on new research that he has been conducting on Rock Art and Tribal Art in India.
