The Flint Hills Archaeological Conference (originally called the Flint Hills/Osage Hills Conference) began in 1979 as a venue for archaeologists working on projects in eastern Kansas, western Missouri, northeastern Oklahoma, and nearby areas to discuss and compare ideas and findings. It has been held every year since and continues to serve as a platform for presentations on topics related to the discovering and interpreting past human cultures of this general area. The 38th annual conference will be held March 25-26, 2016 with the Chalco Hills Natural Resources Center serving as the host venue. The conference will feature various papers and presentations. Additionally, participants are invited to the Friday evening reception as well as the Saturday afternoon field trip. This year’s field trip will take participants to Fort Atkinson, the first military post west of the Missouri. For more information, check out the links below.
