Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the position of Online Training Developer, National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT). NCPTT is an office of the National Park Service (NPS) located on the campus of Northwestern State University (NSU) in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Online Training Developer will be an employee of Northwestern State University and will work closely with NCPTT, NPS, and NSU staff. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria for state employment. This position is full time with benefits for eleven months and is available in October of 2015 at an hourly wage of $23.44.
NCPTT is a nationwide interdisciplinary facility that serves the historic preservation community. Central to the mission of NCPTT is to create training opportunities that advance the application of science and technology to historic preservation and to make them available to a nationwide audience.
The Online Training Developer will work with and be supervised by NCPTT’s Chief, Historic Preservation and will work closely with and be the primary point of contact with staff at the National Park Service’s Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation, project partner. This person will create an online e-learning landscape preservation maintenance program.
The successful candidate shall demonstrate:
- Experience developing online e-learning content
- Understanding of landscape preservation maintenance concepts
- Working knowledge of Articulate Storyline
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of Moodle and other LMS software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
In addition to the qualifications outlined above, the successful candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree, good artistic, organizational, time management, oral communication, and writing skills, and must collaborate well with others. Some travel will be required.
