Karen Pavelka, a senior lecturer for at the University of Texas at Austin, presents a short video on how to handle paper collections that have mold growth. The video was originally created by the School of Information at the University of Texas at Austin as an information resource for NCPTT’s disaster response and recovery webinar series.
The fifteen minute video is intended for people with personal collections or small archival historic museum collections. It’s not intended for people with a lot of experience or people who have large institutions with well-organized conservation departments and administrative staff.
The topics covered include personal protection and safety, isolation of moldy objects, work space preparation, and cleaning the object.
