Devil’s Tower National Monument rises 1000 feet out of the surrounding landscape into the air.  Known by many names, the tower was the first monument added by the authority of the Antiquities Act of 1906 and became our first national monument.  Many different experts have combined their knowledge to determine the history of Devil’s Tower.  Archaeologists have made determinations about the people living in the area.  11,500-7,500 years ago, people hunted mammoth and bison using short-range weapons.  For more information about the profile of Devil’s Tower, visit the NPS website.  For more information about Devil’s Tower National Monument, visit its website.
