The National Park Service is seeking to fill a position that will serve as both the Assistant Deputy Associate Director, Office of Science, Technology, and Training (STT), and the Deputy Executive Director, National Center for Preservation Technology and Training (NCPTT), in the Cultural Resources, Partnerships, and Science Directorate. The Office of Science, Technology, and Training includes the Archeology and Collections, Architecture and Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Materials Conservation programs of NCPTT, as well as a new Web and Media Program, all located in Natchitoches, LA. It also includes the Cultural Resources Training Program and Cultural Resources GIS Program in Washington DC. This new position will assist the Deputy Associate Director, Office of Science, Technology and Training and Executive Director, NCPTT, in administering these programs.
The position is located on the campus of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. Natchitoches is the oldest permanent European settlement in the Louisiana Purchase. It contains a downtown National Landmark District and is located in the Cane River National Heritage Area. Numerous cultural and sporting events are offered on the campus throughout the year. Natchitoches has a low cost of living with a 2013 estimated median housing price of $135,755. Salary for this position ranges from $84,443 to $129,723, depending on experience or time in grade.
