Sarah Jackson and Andy Ferrell visited the Magnolia unit of Cane River Creole National Historic Park to investigate possibly using the slave/tenant farmer cabins at Magnolia Plantation for a limewash training workshop and video production.

NCPTT partnered with the Association for Preservation Technology International to plan and present a workshop on Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Historic Structures that was held May 16-17 in Charleston, S.C.

On June 12-14, 2008, in Savannah, Georgia, NCPTT and the Georgia State Municipal Cemeteries Association will host a half-day Cemetery Monument Conservation Basics workshop.

NCPTT partnered with the Historic Preservation Training Center, the Cultural Resources Division of the Southeast Regional Office of NPS and Fort Sumter National Monument to facilitate a workshop on preserving coastal forts April 8-10 at the Fort Sumter National Monument in Fort Moultrie, S.C.

Geophysical techniques like radar, magnetometry, conductivity, and resistivity are fast becoming essential archeological skills.

The Southeast Archeological Center and Hamline University used funds provided by NCPTT to host a four-day workshop in November called “Heritage Values: The Past in Contemporary Society.”

NCPTT held the Southeast Cemetery Monument Conservation Workshop at St. Michaels Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida on October 23-25, 2007.

CPTT has agreed to provide partial support for the “Heritage Values: The Past in Contemporary Society” workshop proposed jointly by NPS’ Southeast Archeological Center and Hamline University.
