This report outlines the efforts of the SHPO offices of New Mexico and Wyoming to implement a common cultural resource database design.

The database contains citations and summaries of all state legislation that specifically references historic preservation, historic properties, archeological sites or culturally significant human burials.

The purpose of the survey was to determine how the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training might facilitate the education of local public officials.

During rehabilitation of historic buildings, the question of how to treat the windows is inevitably raised. Within the decision-making process for deciding to replace or renovate an existing window, energy consideration should not be the primary criteria, but should not be ignored.

The work identified and developed an economical approach for providing World Wide Web access to information about historic resources developed and maintained by the SHPD.

NCPTT and the Illinois State Historic Preservation Office hosted a half-day Cemetery Monument Conservation Basics Workshop in Morris, Illinois. on May 17, 2008.

Andy Ferrell participated in a panel discussion on “The Future of Preservation” on April 26 at the Louisiana Preservation Conference in Thibodaux, La.

NCPTT’s Jason Church is conducting site visits in preparation for the 2008 Cemetery Monument Conservation Basics Course to be held in Morris, Illinois, in June and the 2008 Cemetery Monument Conservation Workshop to be held in New London, Connecticut in October.
