NCPTT graduate intern Caitlin O’Grady has begun a study to examine scale that has been widely found on granite headstones. Water samples from several test cemeteries are being analyzed using ion chromatography and chemical testing. Scale samples are being analyzed using chemical spot testing and microscopy.
