Preservation at Antietam

Mary Striegel and Jason Church conducted visits to the Antietam National Battlefield and the Harper’s Ferry Conservation Center immediately after the TELNPS course.

They met with Jane Custer, Cultural Resources Manager, at Antietam to discuss preservation issues they face on the site. We commended Jane on the excellent care she and the maintenance staff of Antietam have provided the cemetery grave markers and commemorative monuments. They also discussed issues regarding the conservation of artillery located at the battlefield.
