Dr. David W. Morgan is the Director of the Southeast Archeological Center (SEAC) in Tallahassee, Florida, which supports long-term protection and use of archeological resources and information for national parks and other agencies within the southeastern United States and Caribbean.

Prior to joining SEAC, Dr. Morgan was NCPTT’s Archeology and Collections Program Chief. Before joining NCPTT, Morgan served as an assistant professor in the School of Social Sciences at Northwestern State University of Louisiana where he was also the Assistant Director of the Cultural Resource Office (CRO), a university-based archeological research and contract program.

His research in archeology focuses on prehistoric and historic North America, especially the southeastern United States, where he has carried out field projects in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Morgan holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Tulane University and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Alabama.
